Origin_
Created in 2023 and released on Ethereum, "The Grid” is a 1/1 thematic collection consisting of 16 artworks, each constructed on a fixed 16-unit grid.
Intersecting blocks of varying depth, combined with dramatic gradients, light reflections, and controlled shadows, form compositions that articulate fragments of my past, intimate thoughts and personal reflections shaped through defined structure. The collection adopts a minimal visual language that leaves space for interpretation. Rather than prescribing meaning, each work functions as a framework through which the viewer can project their own experiences.
“The Grid” is the key inspiration behind this new procedural project.
Protogrid_
“Protogrid” marks the first act of a broader vision, serving as a bridge between my existing body of work and upcoming generative projects. The collection builds directly on “The Grid” foundation and aesthetic; It inherits the core principles of The Grid: The balance between constraint and expression, and the use of depth, light, and gradients—but translates them into a procedural system. What was previously resolved through individual decisions is now encoded into rules. The work evolves from singular compositions into a generative space, where variation emerges from the same underlying logic, extending The Grid beyond the 1/1 format and into a scalable, algorithmic form.
Early details_
The Protogrid mint uses a proprietary Art Generator that randomly assigns one of three generation methods to each token.
Manually generated
The first Four grids are crafted by myself, hardcoding values into the algorithm. These are the first numbered, rare tokens and will be auctioned at mint.
AI-driven
A limited set of grids generated in real time by a proprietary AI agent, responsible for defining the artwork subject and producing the corresponding schema.
Procedurally generated
A procedural algorithm creates compositions that remain true to the original aesthetic of The Grid 1:1 collection, while exploring new directions, themes, and layouts.
A live, decentralized renderer brings each grid schema to life through a shader-based animation engine.
A new generative paradigm_
AI-generated outputs use a unique and innovative approach to procedurally generated art.
To create these outputs, the Protogrid Engine taps into an AI agent that has been fine-tuned around the original The Grid ethos. The agent is built on top of a reasoning AI model and operates in four phases:
1. The agent defines the subject of the artwork by taking inspiration from a seed derived from the original The Grid artworks.
2. The agent explores possible swatch combinations from an extensive palette inspired by the original 1:1 collection.
3. the agent builds the grid packing sequence, balancing blocks of different types and sizes to match the artwork subject and applying the selected palette accordingly.
4. the agent generates a standardized output consistent across the collection, while introducing a unique trait that represents the artwork subject, as defined by the agent itself.
5. A live, decentralized renderer brings each grid schema to life through a shader-based animation engine.
THE MINT_
Protogrid is a collection of 512 generative artworks that will be minted on Ethereum Mainnet through a custom, gas optimized ERC-721A contract on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Protogrid mint is FREE. No mint fees, no marketplace fees as the mint is hosted directly on this page. This approach reflects my commitment to fair access to Art and to reaching collectors who are genuinely interested in the work itself.
The entire supply is allowlist-gated. 2 main allowlist phases: Priority access is given to collectors of my 1:1 work on Ethereum, but there will be many additional opportunities on social to secure an allowlist spot and through selected partnerships.
